Shapenote Singing in Dundee
Shapenote Singing is unaccompanied three- and four-part vocal harmony in a rustic style dating back to eighteenth- and nineteenth-century America, still a living tradition in the South, and recently taken up all over the English-speaking world and beyond.
Dundee Shapenote singers meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month, from 7pm -9:30pm in the Chaplaincy Centre, University of Dundee.
Current dates are 28th May, 25th June, 23rd July and 27th August.
Beginners are introduced to Shapenote singing at the start of each meeting and all levels of ability are welcome!
