New instrument classes

There was a good turnout for the first of the Friends of Wighton Thursday series of instrumental classes at the Wighton Heritage Centre in Dundee Central Library, with new faces as well as some old friends taking the chance to try a different instrument.

On offer are beginner fiddle, tutored by the highly experienced Karen Hannah, which runs from 4pm – 5pm, while chanter, whose tutor is one of Scotland’s most exciting young pipers Kyle Howie, a member of the Red Hot Chili Pipers, is from 5pm – 6pm. The session finishes with the guitar class, running for 6pm – 7pm, taught by first rate teacher Paul Campbell . No previous experience is necessary and instruments are available for those who wish to try before they buy.

Classes will run on Thursday 17th and Thursday 24th November. Fees are £5/£2.50 concessions and there are still a few places available.
