On Wednesday 5th November, the monthly Wighton lunchtime concert is being performed by singer Helen Brown and features music of Robert Burns.

Helen first performed a version of this concert for Fest ‘n’ Furious two years ago and was delighted to find so much interesting and beautiful music in the classical mode, from Beethoven to Britten, inspired by the genius of Burns.

She sings all over Scotland with the professional vocal quartet Chamonix and has also presented her own one-woman show, Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know, about the wicked ladies of opera and musicals.

In Wednesday’s concert Helen’s accompanist will play some of the music (Pietro Urbani song arrangements, taken from books in the Wighton Collection) on the Wighton Harpsichord.
